Vitamin C is a key anti-ageing skincare ingredient that helps to gently brighten and smooth your skin. It's one of the best power antioxidants and helps protect your skin against free radical damage caused by the environment.
It promotes the synthesis of collagen and ceramides, has anti-inflammatory activity and is therefore used by dermatologists in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. Ascorbic Acid and its derivatives have a strong antioxidative effect on the skin, especially in combination with Vitamin E, and protects from damage by Ultraviolet radiation.
I have also added Coenzyme Q10 to this Cream as it also protects the skin against oxidative stress and has shown in research, that it diminishes the depth of wrinkles and visible signs of photoageing.
The fragranced version of our Moisture Rich Vitamin C Cream is delicately scented with aromatherapy oils of Orange, steam distilled Lemon and Vanilla. It is also available in a fragrance-free version.
DIRECTIONS
To protect your skin from UV damage and environmental aggressors, vitamin C is more commonly recommended for your morning regime, however you can use at night as there is some research to say that free radical damage continues to affect your skin overnight.
Note: If you are using glycolic or salicylic acid and retinol, you will need to leave some time in between, before applying your vitamin C product to avoid any stinging or redness.
You can use the moisturiser under makeup, under face oil if desired. Start by using it sparingly and work your way up to desired amount and coverage.
WHAT DOES ANTI-OXIDANT MEAN?
Antioxidants in general relief oxidative stress caused by the excessive formation of free radicals (i.e. seen in inflammation) and slow or diminish the development of visible signs of ageing. The formation of free radicals is also influenced by ultraviolet radiation, ultrasound, ozone, chemicals and tobacco smoke. The more advanced in age the body is, the less capable it is of combatting free radicals without external help. The importance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals with antioxidative effects increases.
Antioxidants preserve normal cell functioning and prevent skin inflammation and skin ageing. Nevertheless, overuse is not recommended as an excess of antioxidants may have the opposite effect.

- VITAMIN E
reduces skin damage due to ultraviolet radiation, smooths the surface of the skin, increases the hydration of the stratum corneum (outermost layer of the skin), inhibits inflammation, stimulates cell regeneration and accelerates wound healing. Women over 50 have a reduced delivery mechanism of vitamin E on the skin surface and could thus benefit from an extra application.
- In most people over forty COENZYME Q10 (Ubiquinone) levels start to sink, resulting in a lesser ability to produce collagen and other important skin molecules. Coenzyme Q10 has exceptional antioxidant properties. Studies have shown that topical application can effectively counteract free radical damage and provide protection against UVA-induced depletion of cell membrane. This function helps to prevent damage to collagen and elastin production process and help to reduce the signs of ageing and appearance of wrinkles.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL
is a plant native to North America but it grows in Europe and parts of the Southern hemisphere as well. It has yellow flowers that bloom in the evening. It was used by the North American Indian medicine men to make an infusion for healing wounds, gastrointestinal complaints and sore throats.
Where evening primrose oil is pressed from the seeds of Oenothera Biennis, it is important to note that it is an exceptionally fine textured oil which is easily absorbed, with high levels of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) and also antioxidant Phytosterols.
Numerous clinical studies are available that detail the effectiveness on atopic dermatitis.
Used cosmetically or topically in general, Evening Primrose Carrier Oil exhibits superb soothing and moisturising properties, and it is gentle enough for use on sensitive and prematurely ageing skin. It is reputed to not only moisturise but to also enhance elasticity as well as the texture of flaking or peeling skin, making it an ideal ingredient for mature skin. With astringent and softening properties, it promotes the look of a healthy, clear, rejuvenated complexion with enhanced radiance. By addressing roughness, wrinkles, redness, dryness, and irritation, it is reputed to soothe skin afflicted with acne, allergies, eczema, and psoriasis.

ALOE VERA EXTRACT
is commonly used in cosmetic formulations and is composed of mainly water, along with polysaccharides, anthraquinones, amino acids, glycosides, minerals, flavones, phytosterols and salicylic acid. Aloe Vera is a natural skin soother, perfect for allergy-prone, itchy or red skin and keeps the skin hydrated.
- ORGANIC SHEA BUTTER
is extracted from the nuts of the African Karite Tree using traditional extraction methods without the use of hexane, chemical pesticides, or preservatives to retain its vital nutrients. It is rich in vitamin A and E, plant sterols, vitamins and softens, protects against drying and nourishes the skin. It prevents moisture loss, protects against the elements and helps renew cracked, aged and damaged skin and can help with soreness, skin rashes and itching, acne, sunburn, scars.
- CAMELLIA SEED OIL
has been recognised for centuries in Japan for its highly restorative effect on the skin. It is said to be responsible for the peachy skin and long nails of Japanese women. It is also known for being one of the most rapidly absorbed oils yet has an outstanding moisture retaining ability without clogging the pores. Camellia Seed Oil is high in Vitamin A, B, C and E and Oleic Acid, giving it excellent skin conditioning properties, protecting your skin from drying out while replenishing with vital nutrients and calms easily irritated skin.

They're clearly non toxic as my skin is loving them! I have always struggled to find clean natural products that will moisturize my skin without irritating it. I was a bit worried this moisturiser would not be rich enough for my dry skin but I wanted to try it. I’m so glad I did. My skin has been super smooth and silky since I’ve been using it and I’m only two weeks in. It smells gorgeous and it’s so light and silky and spreads so well so only need a small amount. My mum and I ordered this cream to try (on lovely Gerlinde’s recommendation) as we both have sensitive skin and I’m prone to quite severe dryness on my forehead especially . We have been using it the last few days and I’m addicted! It literally glides on to your skin like velvet and my skin just soaks it all up! I can see a difference and feel a difference in the texture of my skin already. It really is a beautiful product and smells delicious. Iv tried a few of Gerlinde’s products now and all of them are amazing and work so well with my skin. Before discovering these products I was quite paranoid about the way my skin looked and I can’t believe the difference now. I just wanted to quickly write to you to say thank you for your amazing products. I get acne sometimes, especially when I am on my monthly. This can be really demoralising, because I’ve had beautiful clear skin my whole life and it’s only the last few years that it’s been trouble. I haven’t gone to the doctors about it just because life is busy- so I tend to just use any random products on my skin in the hopes the spots clear up in their own. Then the coronavirus happened and I’d run out of moisturiser and my mum decided to write to you and ask about things I could use on my skin. I must admit I wasn’t massively enthusiastic because nothing has really cleared my skin before. But then a lovely box arrived, beautifully packaged And i was excited to have a go. I have the moisturiser and toner, and I literally can’t explain how AMAZING it is! The patches of skin that were particularly bad still have some problems but the redness has completely died down. And the majority of my face is completely clear and feels so much nicer than before. I was so insecure about my skin and always put makeup on which made it worse. The only explanation for what feels like this miracle is your products, so all I have to say is THANK YOU! I honestly am so pleased with the products and will be buying more in the future.

I can tell you all that this cream is absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be buying this again. My skin is so smooth, lines are a lot fainter, skin Has a lot more elastisty and is plumper, so younger looking. And to top it off it smells absolutely gorgeous. I have been using the Moisturizing Vitamin C Serum for a couple of weeks. Wow, you hit the ball out of the park. I love everything about it!
This is a beautifully crafted moisturizer that is a treat for the skin. I received the cream and decided that I would apply it during my morning skincare routine. I applied two pumps each morning for two weeks. The first thing I noticed about the cream was that it has a lovely, slightly thick milky texture. The other thing I noticed right away was the amazing scent. I enjoy products that have an uplifting aroma, but aren’t overly fragranced. This scent is mild and reminiscent of lemon cream. I absolutely loved it. It’s wonderful that the cream also comes in an unscented version for those who prefer to go that route. The application was easy and the cream felt very silky as I gently rubbed it in. It was absorbed almost immediately. I am wearing minimal make up, as it's the summer, but the bronzer and blush that I applied right after went on with ease.
I used the Vitamin C cream in conjunction with a growth factor serum, face oil and sunscreen. I tried to keep my routine simple, adding in the cream so that I could judge its effectiveness. It is helpful to note that during one of the weeks I was using it, I was at the beach on vacation.
After the first week, I noted that my face felt nourished and plump after I applied the cream. It often feels tight when I wash it. I applied it right after my growth factor and could immediately feel the moisturizing benefits. One of the things I look for in Vitamin C is brightening. During my second week, the one I spent at the beach, I was extra vigilant in adding sunscreen. My face never became red and I did notice that it was brighter and glowing. This has continued as I returned home and continued to use the cream. Additionally, I noticed some fading of my red acne marks. I had no hormonal breakouts, which is notable because my period arrived during my trial.
Overall, I truly enjoyed the Moisture Rich Vitamin C cream. The addition of Vitamin E, Aloe Vera Extract, COQ10 and the nourishing Evening Primrose and Camelia oils, make this a wonderfully hydrating treat for the skin. I will definitely be repurchasing it!
